Naturopathic Effects of the Cupping Venesection Treatments on the Mohyeol and Baesuhyeol

Abstract
The objective of this study was to organize more accurate and effective theoretical system by clinically applying scientific theories and methodologies of the cupping venesection treatment reported by literatures. Out of total 22 subjects, there were 13 males and 9 females. Eight subjects showed treatment effects in backache, 7 in hyperglycemia, 6 in shoulder pain, 5 each in headache, hemorrhoids, and arthralgia, 4 each in impotence, cold hands and feet, and hypochondriac pain, 3 each in gum disease, stomachache, chest pain, back pain, and insomnia, 2 each in eye disease, menstrual pain, and gout, and 1 each in rhinitis and depression. In details, backache showed the best treatment effect (88%) followed by hypochondriac pain (85%), hypertension and hyperglycemia (83% each) while eye disease (50%), depression and impotence (60% each) showed relatively little effects. Twenty types of diseases of the subjects all showed improvements with treatments for only basic 8 meridian system defined by the investigator and it is considered to be a meaningful result to see total 76.67% of treatment effects.
